8 ideas for a wild mother's day
Mother’s Day is just around the corner (mark your calendars kids; it’s on 14th May)! Thinking of doing the usual “fancy dinner at a restaurant” idea? Why not surprise her with something more out of the ordinary, something involving Mother Nature? Here are 8 Mother’s Day activities involving Mother Nature:
Morning activities
1. Morning stroll at MacRitchie
Tired mums deserve a good breather. Whilst many may associate taking a walk in nature reserves to be a hot and sweaty affair, morning time (7am to 11am) at MacRitchie Reservoir proves to be different. The air is cool and breezy, the reservoir is covered with a layer of mist and the human traffic is low. A perfect environment for a casual stroll, a peaceful jog, or simply comfortable one-on-one time enjoying nature on MacRitchie’s various trails.
Things to prepare: Snacks (not in visible plastic bags so as to not attract macaques), water
Mom-friendly aspects: Mushroom Cafe’s good food, calm and peaceful environment, a chance for some light exercise

5. Food spree
You can't go wrong with this - who doesn't loves food? Go cafe-hopping with your mum. We recommend trying out vegetarian/vegan food if you have yet to do so. Not only do they taste great, they are also more environmentally friendly! Try out cafes such as Afterglow (Keong Siak Road), Original Sin (Chip Bee Gardens) and Project Acai (Lorong Liput). So shiok!
Things to prepare: Money and tummy!
Mom-friendly aspects: Good food. Do we need to say more?
